A solarpunk city with waterfalls, wind turbines, and a boy with a robot

I'm Victor. I've built racecars in Sweden and agentic systems in Tanzania. Today I work at the intersection of software, ML, and hardware to build ambitious robotics projects in Paris.

I hope my life's work will support a future where humans, nature, and technology exist in symbiosis rather than extraction.

Walnut · desk-bot

Walnut.

Walnut is an anthropomorphic quadruped that lives on your desk. @Chris and I are building this project (as a side gig) with wireless charging, expressive gesturing, RL-based locomotion, and autonomous existence, inspired by the Sesame project by @doriangray.

First control-conditioned locomotion policy trained while sitting in the Hugging Face office.

FR8 · Paperclip Factory demo

A factory that runs itself.

I spent three months with @Theo-Michel at FR8 in Helsinki building a fully self-governed factory. We let 30 people try it for a month — it made 70 products.

We built a control hierarchy for each robot and machine on the floor. Clippy talked to customers and ran jobs; each machine agent managed its own robot state machine. Everything communicated over MQTT.

We also built several of the robots from scratch — PCB design, quick prototyping, firmware, homing sequences.

Meltaverse

An open-source community of robotics builders.

My first proper entrepreneurship experience — building an open-source community of robotics builders with @Alba and @Yiyang.

We built CI/CD tools and 3D visualization infrastructure for robot projects, raised a small ticket from Pareto, and grew a 200+ person Discord community.

We sunset the project in December 2025 when monetization no longer made sense. I wanted to move deeper into hardware and deeptech — which eventually led me to FR8.

Reachy 2 · leg mechanism

A linkage leg for Reachy 2.

I wrote my second bachelor's thesis on designing a kinematic link leg mechanism under the constraints of the Reachy 2 semi-humanoid robot at Pollen Robotics.

The work covered kinematic and dynamic analysis of the linkage — workspace optimization, force transmission, and design for manufacture inside Pollen's existing chassis.

Twiga · WhatsApp agent

A WhatsApp agent for Tanzanian teachers.

In Feb–Apr 2024, I researched AI in Tanzanian edtech for my master's thesis at KTH. Studying RAG before it became a household term, I built a WhatsApp agent for Tanzanian teachers.

It won the Meta Llama Award of $50k, which we gave to the Tanzania AI community to keep developing further.

In 2025 we signed an MOU with the Government of Tanzania, with continued support from KTH AI Society. In 2026 Aalto AI Society joined. The team is now around 20 people across three countries.

KTH FS · the car

Head of Mech for KTH Formula Student.

I spent a year as Head of Mechanical Design for the KTH Formula Student team as we transitioned from a 2WD spaceframe chassis to a full carbon-fibre monocoque, 4WD, and hub motors.

Before that, I designed and manufactured a cheap brake pedal box and calipers. We built 70% of the pedal box out of a single 10mm Alu-6061 plate. We also designed an emergency brake system using Festo pneumatic servos for when the car drove autonomously.

Victor Oldensand

Oslo · Luxembourg · Stockholm · Paris.

I was born in Oslo in 2001, lived there for six years, then Luxembourg for nine years, then Sweden. I've also spent time on exchange in Switzerland and Paris.

Outside robots, I care about long walks, friends who push me, and a future worth living in.
